About the Practitioner

I have been practising in the Tri-City area as a registered massage therapist for 15 years. I graduated from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy and have since taken numerous courses in myo-fascial release, Cranial Sacral Therapy, Core Zero Balancing, osteopathic techniques and Reiki. For the last two years, I have been studying a body/mind acupressure technique with roots based in traditional Chinese Medicine. I incorporate elements of all these modalities to best fit each individual's needs.

My interest lies in exploring the mind/emotion and body connections. What we think and feel affects our physical body. I believe stress, or our reaction to it, is the major cause of dis-ease in the body. Because of that, I think every session, no matter how treatment-oriented, should have a relaxation/stress-reduction component to it.

I like to work with the physical body and the subtle energies that run through and surround it. Blockages in energy flow can cause tightness, stuckness and pain in the physical body — and isn't that what most people seek massage therapy for?

I believe it is my job to facilitate and help you create a space for healing. For some people, that is going into an almost sleep-like state. For others, it is talking out what is going on for them. I try to honour what works for each individual.

Communicating what works best for you is an important part of a successful treatment. Everyone is different and I need to know what pressure is comfortable; what techniques help or feel good and which don't; whether you want to talk or be quiet; and how you felt after your last session so that I can adapt to fit your needs.

Anything you say is confidential. I try to create a safe environment so you feel comfortable dropping your mask and being your authentic self. For most of us, that is our journey to get back to the glory and innocence of our authentic selves. I would be honoured to be part of your journey.
